CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Huntington Local School District remains closed following what officials say was another bomb threat.
The district posted on its social media page around 9 a.m.:
“The Ross County Sheriff’s Office contacted our school administration this morning regarding another threat made against our school. While we truly wanted to be in session today, the safety of our students and staff must always take precedence in situations like this. Law enforcement is currently on scene, and a thorough investigation into the source of the threat is underway. We ask for your patience and understanding as our school district works closely with law enforcement to determine the origin of these threats and ensure the safety of our school community. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.”
Law enforcement officials have not yet publicly commented on whether any suspects have been identified. This makes the third such threat in the last three weeks.
Parents have taken to social media to express frustration over the sudden closure, saying it created hardships as families scrambled to find child care.
The Guardian will continue to follow this developing story.
