HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio — A 19-year-old Logan man was killed early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on State Route 664 in Hocking County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:38 a.m. Feb. 17 on SR-664 north of Huston Road.

Investigators said Kalind Myles Freeman, 19, was traveling northbound in a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup when he lost control on black ice. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned.

Freeman was pronounced dead at the scene by a representative of the Hocking County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities said the vehicle was not equipped with working safety belts.

The crash remains under investigation.
