ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — A Ross County grand jury has indicted a Pike County man accused of killing Joshua Hopkins in a deadly hit-and-run crash last month.
Martin Arlington Howard, 34, was indicted Feb. 13 on one count of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of failure to stop after an accident, including failure to stop after a nonpublic road accident. All three charges are third-degree felonies.
Authorities say Hopkins, 49, was killed Jan. 10 when Howard’s pickup truck allegedly left the roadway and struck him in the yard of his home in the 5800 block of Denver Road.
Howard was arrested Jan. 17, nearly a week after the crash.
Officials have said neighbors, friends, and other community members were the ones who connected the dots and located Howard.
The case is pending in Ross County Common Pleas Court.
