WAVERLY, Ohio — The Pike County Senior Center will host a bake sale and cake auction on March 11 to raise money for programs and services that support local seniors.

Organizers say proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit congregate and home-delivered meals, wellness activities, social events, and other services provided to seniors throughout Pike County.

The event invites community members, businesses, and organizations to participate by donating homemade or store-bought baked goods such as cookies, pies, cupcakes, and breads. Decorated cakes are also being accepted for the afternoon auction.

For those unable to attend, the senior center is offering additional ways to contribute, including making a financial donation or allowing staff to place bids on auction items on a donor’s behalf.

Bake sale and auction items can be dropped off at the Pike County Senior Center, 402 Clough St. in Waverly, before 9 a.m. on March 11. The cake auction is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Organizers ask donors to notify the center by March 6 if they plan to contribute baked goods.

For more information, residents can call 740-947-5555 or email [email protected].

Officials say the fundraiser aims to bring the community together while supporting services that enhance the quality of life and social engagement for local seniors.
