PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Two crooks thought it would be a great idea to try ripping an ATM out of a bank before sunrise. It didn’t go as planned.
The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two suspects who attempted to steal an ATM from the Chase Bank on Refugee Road at 4:27 a.m. Thursday.
Authorities say the pair showed up in the early morning hours wearing light-colored sweatpants and dark hoodies and tried to haul off the machine. Instead, they left empty-handed in a dark-colored vehicle.
No injuries were reported, and the ATM was not successfully taken.
Detectives are now working to identify the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Erika Silvia at 740-652-7332 or by email at [email protected].
The investigation is ongoing.
