COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Licking County man with prior sex offense convictions has pleaded guilty in federal court to new child pornography charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio.

Christopher McInturf, 56, of Newark, pleaded guilty to receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. He faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years and up to 40 years in prison on the receipt charge and between 10 and 20 years on the possession charge. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.

According to court documents, the investigation began in February 2025 after the Homeland Security Investigations Cyber Crime Center referred a lead involving McInturf allegedly using CashApp to pay for child pornography.

Authorities said investigators determined that McInturf communicated online with an individual he believed to be in Paraguay and typically paid $80 to $86 for bundles of child sexual abuse material.

Court records state that investigators found child sexual abuse material involving prepubescent female victims on McInturf’s digital devices. One video described in court filings was a compilation depicting dozens of young children being sexually assaulted.

Investigators also recovered an explicit image of a minor on a thumb drive, who had previously been identified as a victim in a prior case against McInturf in Licking County.

McInturf was convicted in 2011 in Licking County on two counts of rape and two counts of sexual battery and was sentenced to 10 years in prison in that case.

He was federally charged in February 2025. The case remains pending sentencing.
