ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Huntington Local Schools canceled class on Monday due to icy road conditions, but around the same time, district officials were notified of another automated bomb threat — the eighth threat reported since January.

According to school officials, the Ross County Sheriff’s Office contacted the district after an automated threat was called in. The notification came after the district had already made the decision to close buildings because of inclement weather.

Officials said that before students and staff arrived on campus, school security cameras were reviewed, and the building was swept by law enforcement as a precaution.

Students will transition to online learning for the day.

The investigation into the repeated threats remains ongoing. A $5,000 reward remains available through Crime Stoppers for any information that leads to an arrest in this case.
