LOGAN, Ohio – Atomic Credit Union is asking the public for help identifying a person suspected of committing financial fraud at multiple banks and credit unions across the region, according to a statement released by the credit union.

According to Atomic Credit Union, the individual has been traveling to financial institutions throughout the area using fraudulent identification documents in an attempt to access account holders’ money. The suspect most recently appeared at the credit union’s Logan, Ohio branch, where they presented what Atomic Credit Union describes as a counterfeit passport and attempted to withdraw funds from a member’s account.

Atomic Credit Union stressed in its statement that the Logan incident is not isolated. According to the credit union, at least three other organizations have reported encounters with the same individual — the Crooksville Police Department, Waterford Commercial and Savings Bank, and Jackson Township Police Department in Stark County. All three have reportedly shared additional details and images on their respective social media pages.

Anyone with information about the individual’s identity is asked to contact their local police department or reach out directly to Atomic Credit Union.
