CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Central Center Hardware will close its doors permanently on April 10 after nearly 50 years serving the community, according to an announcement from owner Mark Weisenberger.

The hardware store has been a fixture in the community since 1977. Weisenberger has been with the business for 25 years, first as an employee and later as owner, according to the announcement.

“Navigating the recent retail landscape has presented significant challenges, and we have made the difficult decision to close our doors,” Weisenberger wrote in a letter to customers posted on social media.

The store will remain open during regular hours through April 10 and will hold a sale on remaining inventory, according to the announcement.

“Thank you for letting us be a part of your homes, your projects, and your lives for so many years,” Weisenberger wrote. “To our amazing staff, this journey wouldn’t have been possible without your dedication to our customer service philosophy.”

Weisenberger encouraged customers to stop by before the closure to share memories and purchase final supplies.

“Please stop by, share a memory, grab some final supplies on sale, and let us give you a proper thank you,” he wrote. “All good things must come to an end, but we are so grateful to have shared this one with you.”

The announcement did not specify how many employees will be affected by the closure or what plans are in place for the building after the business closes.
