The Lancaster Fire Department was called to a house in the 600 block of East Fifth Avenue at 1:05 a.m. April 1.
The father, identified by the family as Mason, died trying to save his family from the fire, according to a GoFundMe page established by the children’s grandmother.
“We lost my son, daughter-in-law, and 9-month-old grandson in a tragic house fire late last night, early morning 4/1/26 only surviving person was there 5 year old daughter,” the grandmother wrote on the fundraising page.
“My granddaughter has lost absolutely everything she’s ever known, clothes, toys, everything, and worse, her mommy, daddy, and new baby brother,” she wrote.
The 5-year-old girl is now living with her grandmother.
“Mason my son was the most amazing gift to this world give you the shirt off his back kinda guy and today we lost this young man because his concern was getting his family out and lost his life trying,” the grandmother wrote.
“Personally I’m still in disbelief and holding it together for her as she is now with me at my house and we are going to have a ton of needs I’m not 100% on how we’re gonna get through it all but faith in God we will figure out day by day,” she wrote.
The cause of the fire has not been released by the Lancaster Fire Department. The family has not released the full names of the victims.
