ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to 22 calls for service across the county Monday, April 6, including a felony arrest, a domestic violence incident, and a string of disputes and noise complaints.

The most significant incident of the day came just before 6 a.m. on Laurel Lane in Athens, when deputies were dispatched to what appeared to be a 911 hang-up call. Upon arrival, deputies discovered an inactive dispute. However, a 59-year-old woman at the scene, identified as Robin Wallace, was found to have an active felony warrant out of Meigs County. Wallace was arrested and transported to the county line, where she was taken into custody by Meigs County authorities.

Later that evening, deputies responded to Slater Drive in The Plains just before 10 p.m. for a domestic violence call. The suspect had already left the scene before deputies arrived. Statements were obtained from those involved, a report was completed, and a warrant was requested for the suspect.

A woman on West Union Street in Athens also contacted deputies Monday afternoon to report ongoing harassment from an ex-boyfriend. Deputies took her statement and filed a report.

Other calls throughout the day included a harassment complaint on Vore Ridge Road in Athens where a male was reported throwing rocks at a vehicle, a protection order concern in New Marshfield that turned out to involve no active orders, a family dispute over scrap metal in Glouster, and multiple wellbeing checks across the county — all of which were resolved without incident.

Deputies also responded to noise complaints in The Plains and on Fisher Road in Athens, as well as an incident in Coolville where a previously evicted tenant was reportedly continuing to damage a door lock at a residence.

The day closed with an active dispute on New Floodwood Road in Nelsonville, where involved parties agreed to separate for the evening after deputies determined no violence or threats had been made.
