ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Huntington Local School District received yet another bomb threat Tuesday morning, the latest in a string of calls that have drawn federal law enforcement attention and rattled the rural Ross County community.

According to a statement from the district, the Ross County Sheriff’s Office contacted school officials early Tuesday to report that another threat had been called in. The building was swept and cleared before the school day began, and security camera footage from overnight was reviewed. School proceeded on a normal schedule.

The FBI, Ross County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security have been involved in the investigation since the first threat was reported. Despite the ongoing multi-agency probe, no arrests have been made.

Investigators believe the calls are being generated by artificial intelligence, a growing tactic that has complicated efforts to trace and prosecute those responsible.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.
