ASHVILLE, Ohio — A 14-year-old stabbing victim was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital Wednesday morning after the victim and their family rushed to Teays Valley High School on State Route 752 in Ashville seeking help, authorities say.
The stabbing did not occur on school property, according to preliminary information. According to early reports, the incident took place at a residence near the school campus. The victim, who had been stabbed in the abdomen, and their family then went to the school to seek assistance just before 9 a.m.
School resource officers were notified, and Pickaway County deputies and EMS responded to the scene around the school complex. The 14-year-old was subsequently transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. The victim’s condition is not known at this time.
A person of interest is currently in custody. The investigation remains active, and details are extremely limited at this time.
