FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio — A Thornville man is behind bars after deputies say he shot his wife at their Fairfield Beach area home Wednesday evening.

Danny J. Mosley, 34, of Thornville, was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Fairfield County Jail on an initial charge of Weapons Under Disability, according to a press release from Fairfield County Sheriff Alex Lape.

Deputies, along with officers from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, responded at approximately 6:07 p.m. April 9 to the 13000 block of Hawthorn Road in Thornville after a 911 call reported that a male subject had shot his wife.

Upon arrival, first responders located an adult female victim in the front yard of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital. Her injuries are reported to be non-life threatening.

Mosley was taken into custody without incident. Detectives from the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office have initiated an investigation, and the Fairfield County Prosecutor’s Office is currently reviewing the case for potential additional charges. The investigation remains active.
