PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — A Portsmouth man was arrested Thursday after investigators say child sexual assault material was found on devices seized from his home.
Gary W. Preston, 55, of 27th Street, was taken into custody after detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department executed a search warrant at his residence on April 23, according to a statement from the department.
Police said the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force contacted local investigators after receiving information that child sexual abuse material was being saved and stored on devices linked to Preston. Detectives searched the home Thursday morning and arrested Preston following the discovery of the alleged material.

Preston is charged with pandering obscenity involving a minor, a second‑degree felony; pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, a fourth‑degree felony; and illegal use of a minor in nudity‑oriented material, a fifth‑degree felony.
He was booked into the Scioto County Jail and is awaiting arraignment in Portsmouth Municipal Court.
