HILLSBORO, Ohio — A Highland County man is facing two counts of aggravated menacing after deputies responded to a report of a man firing a gun in the Roundhead Road area, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Dakota McComas was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated menacing and taken to the Highland County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies were first sent to Roundhead Road on July 13 for a trespassing complaint, the sheriff’s office said. While they were on the way, dispatchers received a second call reporting that a man was brandishing and firing a gun, according to the release.

Deputies conducted an investigation at the scene and interviewed multiple witnesses before making the arrest, the sheriff’s office said.

McComas is accused of the offenses but has not been convicted. Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
