GREENFIELD, Ohio — The Highland County Health Department will hold its next Dumpster Day cleanup event next month in Greenfield, giving residents another chance this year to get rid of unwanted household items free of charge.
The event is set for Tuesday, Aug. 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Greenfield HCCAO office, 1300 Jefferson St., the health department said in a Facebook post. Service will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and the event will end once the dumpster is full, regardless of the posted closing time.
The health department is asking residents not to bring concrete, rocks or bricks; batteries or auto parts; tires; drums, liquids or chemicals; appliances or electronics; hazardous waste; or asbestos.
The Greenfield cleanup is one of eight Dumpster Days the health department has scheduled across Highland County this year, including stops earlier this year in Hillsboro, at Bayview Cabins, at the Mowrystown fire station and, on July 21, at the Lynchburg Sewer Treatment Plant. Two more are planned in Hillsboro in September, according to the department.
The RPHF Solid Waste District’s 2026 Community Clean-Up Grant Program is providing partial funding for this year’s Dumpster Days events, the health department said.
