CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Paint Valley ADAMH Board and Coleman Health Services cut the ribbon Tuesday on the new James Hagen Crisis Care Center, a facility designed to give people in Ross and surrounding counties faster access to mental health and addiction crisis care.
The center, located at 11485 County Road 550, will offer 24/7 mental health assessment and stabilization, according to the ADAMH board. Services include 23-hour observation, a crisis stabilization unit for short-term inpatient support, and mobile crisis response for adults, youth and young adults, providing on-site de-escalation, assessment and referral.
Board member Courtney Lewis interviewed Hattie Tracy, president and CEO of Coleman Health Services, and Melanie Swisher, executive director of the Paint Valley ADAMH Board, about the center’s mission during Tuesday’s event. Steve Bossart served as emcee, and Dr. James Hagen, the center’s namesake, cut the ribbon.
Hagen is a longtime clinical psychologist who has practiced in Chillicothe, according to professional licensing records.
Coleman Health Services, which operates crisis stabilization units in several Ohio counties, has listed a new crisis stabilization unit and walk-in crisis center for Ross County among its upcoming facilities, according to the organization.
The Paint Valley ADAMH Board oversees mental health and addiction services for Fayette, Highland, Pickaway, Pike and Ross counties, according to the board.
