VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — A stretch of Vinton County Road 13A will close to all through traffic Saturday for a community event hosted by the Harrison Township Fire Department, according to the Vinton County Engineer’s Office.
The closure of the road, also known as Old Route 50, begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, and continues until 4:30 p.m., County Engineer Roy DePue announced. It will run between the Harrison Township Trustee building and Pleasant Valley Trinity Church.
DePue, a Vinton County native and Ohio University-trained civil engineer, has served as county engineer since 2017. His office is responsible for maintaining the county’s roads and bridges and advises township trustees on road projects throughout Vinton County.
Drivers who normally use County Road 13A through the closure area should plan an alternate route for the day. The Engineer’s Office asked residents for their cooperation and understanding while the road is shut down for the event.
The information contained in this story was obtained from the Vinton County Emergency Management Agency.
