MCARTHUR, Ohio — The Village of McArthur will hold trick-or-treat from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31, the McArthur Police Department announced, keeping with the community’s tradition of trick-or-treating on Halloween night itself rather than a separate designated date.

The department invited residents to gather at Village Hall, located at 124 W. Main St., for the evening’s festivities.

McArthur, the Vinton County seat, has an estimated population of roughly 1,700 residents. Many Ohio communities shift trick-or-treat to a weekend evening near Halloween, but McArthur has continued to hold the event on Oct. 31 regardless of the day of the week.

The police department did not announce any road closures or additional safety measures tied to the event.
