WILLIAMSPORT, Ohio — Details about the Tuesday night standoff in Pickaway County have been released.
The Sheriff’s office reports that Michael S. Warren, Randle Road, was being irate and tearing up his house with his children and family home. When deputies were called to the home, Warren ran back inside and grabbed a gun, where there were children.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT team was requested to the scene. Ohio State Highway Patrol also arrived on scene to assist. Deputies and troopers surrounded the residence and talked Warren into unloading the firearm and kicking the firearm down the steps, the Sheriff reported. After approximately 30 minutes, deputies were able to approach Warren, who was sitting on a couch and tried to deescalate the situation and convince him to surrender. Warren would not comply with their commands, so deputies deployed a taser on him, according to reports.
Warren was transported to the Pickaway County Jail where he was charged with domestic violence, using weapons while intoxicated, aggravated menacing, and unlawful restraints.
