GOOD HOPE, Ohio — State Route 753 is closed through Good Hope in both directions after a downed power line blocked the roadway, Wayne Township Fire & EMS said Monday.
The line came down on Route 753 near the village, closing the highway to traffic approaching from both the north and south while utility crews respond, the fire department said in a social media post.
Good Hope is an unincorporated community in Wayne Township, roughly midway between Greenfield and Washington Court House.
Drivers can detour around the closure by using the alley behind Good Hope’s Town Hall to pass through the village or continue toward Greenfield, or by taking North Street to route around the affected area, the fire department said.
Officials asked motorists to avoid the area if possible, slow down and give utility crews room to work safely. Wayne Township Fire & EMS said it would post an update once the road reopens.
