GOOD HOPE, Ohio — Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Rescue will host a food drive for its Good Hope-area neighbors Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to noon at the department’s station, the department said in a Facebook post.
Residents can drop off non-perishable food items during the three-hour window, or simply help spread the word about the effort, the department said.
The department said help isn’t limited to the day of the drive. Anyone in the community who needs food assistance can privately message volunteers Becky Chandler, Tracy Downing or John Downing, or speak with any department member, and all requests will be kept confidential, the department said.
Good Hope is an unincorporated community in Wayne Township, in rural Fayette County, with a population of 202 as of the 2020 census, according to U.S. Census data. Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Rescue is the township’s volunteer fire and EMS department.
