CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Pickaway County officials are coordinating with state and local partners after Gov. Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency for flooding affecting communities across Ohio, the county’s emergency management agency said Wednesday.
The declaration recognizes the impact of severe flooding in Pickaway County and supports continued coordination among state, county and local agencies as communities respond to and recover from the flooding, according to the Pickaway County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency. The county saw high water close roadways in an earlier round of flooding last month.
“Our priority is the safety and well-being of our residents,” Pickaway County EMA Director Tiffany Nash said in a statement. “Through our emergency management agency, we will continue to work closely with our state and local partners to coordinate resources and provide support to our communities as they recover from this flooding.”
The agency is asking anyone with flood-related damage to report it as soon as it is safe to do so, either by emailing [email protected] or through an online reporting form at arcg.is/1qOTWm1.
Officials also asked residents to remain alert to changing conditions, follow instructions from local officials and monitor trusted sources for emergency information as recovery efforts continue.
