CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe city fireworks return this year.
In a statement released by the Chillicothe Police, fireworks will begin at 9:45 p.m. on Sunday. According to officials, the best viewing spot in town will be along the floodwall at Yocatgee Park.
Police want to remind residents that tents as well as any items that obstruct the bike path are prohibited. Police officials went on to say, alcohol is also prohibited in the city park, as well as fireworks. The city encourages residents to stay safe this Fourth of July.
City officials stated that after the fireworks, traffic will be directed by Chillicothe police officers, as well as troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol. They continued by saying that there will be no left turns for northbound traffic on High Street, and Yoctangee Park.
The Chillicothe Fire Department also asks residents to avoid any restricted areas. These areas include the waterway near the Yoctangee Park Annex. If you have any questions, police ask that you call Captain Chris Dubay of the Chillicothe Police at 740-773-1191.
