VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — Vinton County Sheriff deputies were involved in a pursuit Friday, according to the Vinton County Sheriff.
Sheriff Ryan C. Cain said deputies responded to the Dollar General on route 50 in Allensville. It was at that time Cain said his deputies attempted to make contact with Michael Zinn. Witnesses at the Dollar General stated that Zinn was highly intoxicated.
Zinn jumped into his car and fled from law enforcement, the Sheriff said.
Deputies were engaged in a short pursuit before the suspect ditched his vehicle and took off on foot into a wooded area. Sheriff Cain said deputies were able to take Zinn into custody shortly after.
According to the Sheriff, the vehicle driven by Zinn was searched and impounded. Deputies said they found what appeared to be narcotics inside the vehicle.
Court records show, Michael Zinn, 29, Hamden, was also arrested on felony warrants out of Vinton County. He is currently held in the Fairfield County Jail until a bond hearing is set.
Prosecuting Attorney James Payne said additional charges are pending in the incident.
