Circleville Police will be unable to personally receive two national awards later this month due to serious budget cuts and lack of police officers.
“Today, we were honored to receive two membership awards from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children,” CPD said. “Although greatly honored by this invitation, we were unable to accept (in person) due to staffing and budget issues.”
“These awards were presented to the Circleville Police Department and Circleville Police Department Communications Center as part of our induction into the Missing Kids Readiness Program. Out of the over 800 law enforcement agencies in Ohio, the Circleville Police Department is only the second to have completed this advanced training and be inducted into the Missing Kid Readiness Program. Additionally, the Circleville Police Department Communications Center was honored to become the sixth Communications Center in Ohio and the only Communications Center in Pickaway County to have completed this advanced training and be inducted into the Missing Kid Readiness Program as well.”
The Circleville Police Department and Communications Center were invited to have representatives receive the prestigious awards in person on August 13 during an official award ceremony. This award ceremony will be held The the APCO (Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials) Conference in Baltimore, Maryland.
“The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was very understanding and gladly mailed these awards to us.”
