CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ohio Highway Patrol announced that they will conduct an OVI Checkpoint in Chillicothe Saturday evening.

According to the patrol, the checkpoint will be held between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Western Avenue in Chillicothe.

The checkpoint, officials say, is funded by a federal grant, and will help deter drunk driving. This checkpoint comes as the Chillicothe plans a large Beach Party following the “Sands in the Street” event downtown with DORA; which allow patrons to walk around downtown with alcohol.
