CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Police in Chillicothe responded to the Applebee’s on North Bridge Street on Saturday. According to 9-1-1 dispatch, a call was made stating that someone was in the restaurant parking lot firing a gun.
Officers responded to the restaurant and spoke with an employee who witnessed the incident.
The employee told police that she was leaving the restaurant when she saw a man wearing a black jacket and a black toboggan raise a pistol and fire a single shot. According to police reports, the employee said that she was able to see the muzzle fire from the gun. She believed that the suspect did not know she was standing there witnessing the shooting.
The manager of the restaurant told officers that she had found a spent 9mm shell casing in the rear parking lot. The manager, officials say, was able to provide police with security footage that showed the suspect.
During the investigation, officers spoke with an employee at the nearby Patrick’s Pub. The employee at the bar told investigators that they had kicked out an intoxicated patron earlier for having a firearm.
Reports say that a bullet hole was also located by police in a storage shed between Applebee’s and the adjacent Walgreens Pharmacy.
According to authorities, the case is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this shooting should contact the Chillicothe Police Department.
