Documents obtained by the Guardian outline disturbing allegations against a longtime Washington Court House City Councilman.
In the document obtained by the Guardian, Washington Court House City Council Chairman Jim Chrisman’s ex-wife writes in an affidavit that she was afraid that the councilman would have sexually assaulted her if she was not granted a restraining order.
In the document, dated October 23, 1987, Chrisman’s then-wife swore under the penalty of perjury that she, “being duly cautioned and sworn, deposes and states she is the Defendant in the within action, and that she makes this Affidavit in support of her foregoing motion (for a restraining order)….Affiant states that she believes that unless otherwise restrained, the Plaintiff, Jimmy D. Chrisman, will commit the following acts….Harass, molest, threaten, bother, annoy, and interfere with or do bodily harm to this Affiant at her residence, place of employment, or elsewhere.”
The restraining order was granted by the then-Fayette County Court of Common Pleas Judge.
Chrisman did not return a request for an interview.
