SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio — Drugs, guns, and cash were seized following a major drug raid in Portsmouth.
According to Scioto County Sheriff David Thouroughman, members of the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, Portsmouth P.D. S.W.A.T., and Portsmouth Fire Department tactical medics assisted in the early morning raid of a residence located at 260 Egbert Rd., in Portsmouth.
Taskforce detectives seized four (4) vehicles and discovered 131 grams of Fentanyl, 77 grams of meth, 56 grams of marijuana, two (2) firearms, digital scales, a large amount of Gabapentin, a large quantity of liquid Methadone, and $3,159 in cash.
Sheriff Thouroughman said Rockie Lee Johnson, age 56, of 260 Egbert Rd., Portsmouth, was arrested in the raid. Johnson is charged with two (2) counts of having a weapon under disability, possession of drugs—fentanyl, trafficking in drugs—fentanyl, possession of meth, trafficking in meth, and possession of criminal tools.
Reports say, Beverly Charles, age 65, of Portsmouth, was also arrested in the raid. Charles was charged with two (2) counts of weapons under disability, possession of drugs – fentanyl, trafficking in drugs – fentanyl, possession of meth, a second-degree felony, trafficking in meth, permitting drug abuse,
Another woman named Christina Barnes, officials say, was also charged with receiving stolen property and theft.
The three suspects will be arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Tuesday, January 18.
