WILMINGTON, Ohio — Ohio’s severe weather awareness week begins March 20 and runs through March 26.
According to the Ohio Emergency Management Agency, there will be a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 23, at 9:50 a.m.
During the week, the National Weather Service in Wilmington will educate citizens on the various dangers of Ohio weather and prepare for the upcoming severe weather season.
Ohio, according to NWS, has seen more than 1,200 tornadoes since 1940, accounting for hundreds of deaths across the Buckeye State.
