SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio— A Lucasville man is behind bars today following an early morning shooting in Scioto County.
According to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, 68-year-old Charles C. Thomas was arrested after a shooting on Blue Run Road.
Reports say Thomas shot 34-year-old Alex Stone shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Friday. 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call from a woman who said that Thomas had shot her boyfriend in the face.
Multiple deputies responded to the scene, where they found Stone suffering from a gunshot wound. He would later be airlifted to a trauma center in serious but stable condition.
Detectives at the scene said the 9-1-1 caller fled following her call for help, leaving 3 young children behind. Scioto County Children’s Services was called and took custody of the children.
Thomas was arrested at the scene and charged with felonious assault and felony child endangerment. He remains in the Scioto County Jail on a $152,000 bond.
Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman says the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be forthcoming.
