FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio — Firefighters in Fayette County responded to a residential fire in the 5000 block of Route 22 just west of Washington Court House.
According to Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, first responders were able to rescue an elderly woman from the burning home.
She was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
The name of the woman and her current condition were not immediately released.
Officials say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
