PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — The Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Scioto County.
It happened on route 823 northbound, near the Lucasville-Minford Road off-ramp, shortly before 8 a.m. on Thursday.
Kasey B. Bergan, 24, Wheelersburg, was traveling northbound on SR 823 in the righthand lane. Troopers said parked on the berm was Linda L Murphy, 67, also of Wheelersburg, where Murphy’s car was still partially in the highway’s travel lane, causing the two vehicles to collide.
Murphy sustained life threating injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Bergen was not seriously hurt.
This crash remains under investigation at this time.
