PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — The Pike County Dogwood Festival will find a new home this year at the Pike County Fairgrounds.
According to a statement released by the Dogwood Festival Committee, after years of discussion, the committee felt this year was the time to make the move.
“The committee realized there is not enough electric or water to accommodate our vendors and guests on the streets of Piketon,” said a representative.
The added, “The committee understands that some people will be upset by this move. Some people and vendors think this is a terrific idea.”
This year’s festival will begin on April 27 and continue until April 30.
The annual Dogwood Parade will also be held at the county fairgrounds.
To attend, residents will need to enter through the main entrance from Route 23. A small fee of $1.00, officials said, will be charged per car for parking. The back entrance will not be available for use.
