A previous version of this article mistakenly had the age of the man as 83, instead of 38.
A man was rushed to Adena Regional Tuesday morning after crashing his car while high on heroin.
Troopers say that at around 3:30 a.m. the man crashed his car head-on into a tree in the 5000 block of Jester Hill Road outside of Bainbridge.
When medics arrived before troopers they found the man laying in the middle of the road about a half a mile from his car. He admitted to taking heroin before wrecking.
Initially, crews wanted to fly the man to Columbus for severe injuries, but medical helicopters would not launch due to impending inclement weather. He reportedly had broken bones, could not move his hand, and could barely speak.
No names have been released.
