PIKE COUNTY, OHIO — A virtual panel of experts from the White House, the U.S. Department of Energy, and leading organizations will come together on Monday, February 13 at 1:00 p.m. to discuss the impact and opportunities in clean energy and infrastructure.
The panelists will delve into federal initiatives and funding opportunities, such as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act, that are transforming the energy landscape. The discussion will also cover Ohio’s efforts towards a more sustainable energy and manufacturing economy, including the innovative plan to reindustrialize the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PORTS) near Piketon, Ohio.
The event is open to media and the public and will be moderated by Michael Green, Director of Climate & Energy Policy at the American Sustainable Business Network.
Speakers at the virtual panel include Joshua Peck, Senior Policy Advisor at the White House Office of Clean Energy Innovation & Implementation, Brian Mahar, Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Energy Loan Programs Office, and Katie Harris, Legislative Director at the BlueGreen Alliance, among others.
The virtual panel is organized by Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, the American Sustainable Business Network, and the Ohio Sustainable Business Council, with cosponsors including the Southern Ohio Diversification Initiative, the Pike County Chamber of Commerce, and the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission.
