VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — A Vinton County man is behind bars after being found with an underage girl.
The Vinton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a missing 12-year-old girl on John Street in Zaleski on Saturday, March 11, 2023. The report was received in the early morning hours, prompting a massive search effort by local fire departments, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Wellston Police Department.
Deputies were informed that the juvenile maybe with an adult male identified as Dalton Vickers, who lived nearby. After checking Vickers’ residence, he denied any knowledge of the girl’s whereabouts. However, deputies later returned to the residence and discovered that Vickers had lied about the girl’s location.
Several hours later, the girl was found at Vickers’ residence, and he was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on charges related to the incident.
