WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Timothy Hodson, 32, was taken into custody on Saturday after a high-speed pursuit in Washington Court House. The chase began when officers from the Washington C.H. Police Department attempted to stop Hodson for an alleged traffic offense on North North Street. Hodson fled from officers at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour, leading to a pursuit that continued into the county and back into the city.
During the chase, Hodson reportedly drove off the road and through residential yards to evade police. The pursuit continued through farm fields and residential backyards, with PIT maneuvers, attempted but unsuccessful. Hodson eventually rammed into a Washington C.H. Police Department patrol car and fled on foot. The K-9 officer assisted in Hodson’s capture after a short pursuit.
Hodson has been charged with several offenses, including first-degree felonious assault on a law enforcement officer by means of a deadly weapon, third-degree felony failure to comply, and second-degree misdemeanor assaulting a police dog. He also had an outstanding warrant through an outside agency.
The officer sustained minor injuries during the pursuit, and an investigation is underway to assess the property damage caused by Hodson during the chase. Hodson is being held in the Fayette County Jail on a $63,000 bond.
