COLUMBUS, Ohio — Buffalo-based company Rich Products has issued a voluntary recall for 15 cases of Member’s Mark Breaded Mozzarella Sticks, as they may contain undeclared egg and soy. Many were sold in Ohio.
The recall comes after the discovery that an incorrect raw material was used during the manufacturing process, leading to the introduction of egg and soy allergens in the product.
People with allergies or severe sensitivity to egg or soy are at risk of experiencing serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products. As of now, no illnesses related to the consumption of these Mozzarella Sticks have been reported.
The affected product, sold in a 5 LB cardboard box package, has a Best If Used By Date of 12/28/2024 stamped on the side panel, and it can be identified by the UPC number 078742226880 on the back of the package. These particular Mozzarella Sticks were distributed exclusively to Sam’s Club retail stores in Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are urged to check for the presence of egg and soy allergens in the ingredient listing. Those with allergies to these ingredients should not consume the product and should return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.
