Scioto Valley Guardian is looking to hire an account executive for our publication. The position will be based in Chillicothe, Ohio, and service the surrounding area, as well. You will be replacing a person who held this position and performed phenomenally well, but had to leave for personal reasons.
The Guardian is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated representative who will meet or exceed revenue goals by designing creative client campaigns that drive desired business results. We are looking for someone who can connect with clients and help them achieve their business objectives through effective digital advertising.
In this position, you will receive health insurance that is fully paid by the company within 90 days of hiring, if the sales goal is met. In addition, you will receive generous performance bonuses, as well as an annual bonus.
You will have flexible scheduling to fit your needs with holidays and weekends off.

In this position, you will receive a competitive base pay and uncapped commissions.
In this position, you will:
- Generate revenue for the Guardian and meet monthly goals through effective outside sales techniques.
- Develop new business and create results for clients through creative and effective targeted campaigns.
- Research and build campaign solutions, including overall branding and creative and ensure campaign execution, meets client expectations.
- Establish trusting relationships with clients, community members, and the Guardian, and meet all commitments with adequate preparation, delivery, and follow-through.
- Meet or exceed revenue targets for existing, new, and digital businesses.
- Grow share of clients’ advertising spend while increasing their overall spend.
- Support quality deliverables to drive client results.
- Support collection of receivables.
- Build and enhance sales skills, including effective story-telling, prospecting, and relationship-building, negotiation, closing.
- Develop capabilities to produce creative and effective campaigns.

- Proven success in developmental business and multimedia platforms including web and mobile applications.
- Passion for contributing to a sales team with a positive mindset.
- Effective relationship building, customer service, communication, and negotiation skills.
- An excellent understanding of key competition.
- Ability to anticipate, meet and/or exceed customer needs, wants, and expectations.
- The ability to adapt to all situations and personality types in the sales staff and client base.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $39,880.00 – $90,745.00 per year
