ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — On Tuesday, Ross County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) responded to a complaint concerning inappropriate messages exchanged between a neighbor and a minor.

A mother claimed her minor daughter received unsolicited and inappropriate photos from their neighbor. Further examination of the daughter’s phone revealed concerning conversations.

In the subsequent investigation,, the neighbor’s devices, an Apple iPhone and a black Android phone, were seized. The neighbor, whose name remains confidential, stated he never “received” any inappropriate image and was unaware of its nature until being informed by the minor’s mother. His response to the said image was a confused “huh?,” deputies said.

The situation further escalated when the accused’s wife confronted him during the investigation. While she cited other incidents from their past, she focused on her husband’s recent actions. As tensions rose, officers intervened to ensure the safety of all parties involved.

Both the minor’s and the neighbor’s phones have been placed in the RCSO evidence locker for further inspection. The case is currently with the Detective’s Bureau for a more in-depth analysis.

Authorities have advised the neighbor to avoid any contact with the minor and her family and remain off their property. Both parties were given appropriate documentation, including voluntary statements and consent to search forms.
