CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Tragedy struck the air on Thanksgiving day when a body was pulled from the Scioto River in Chillicothe.
The recovery happened on Narrows Road around 1 p.m. after a passerby called 9-1-1 to report they saw “a human body floating in the water.”
Search and rescue crews were called to the area and recovered the body after an extensive search, using aerial support from the Highway Patrol and an airboat.
The person’s name and how they died was not immediately released. The body was taken to Dayton for an autopsy and the case has been turned over to detectives.
