POMEROY, Ohio — Meigs County deputies were kept on their toes yesterday, responding to a variety of calls across the county. Here’s a snapshot of their activity:

Responding to the Community:

  • Domestic Dispute: Deputies resolved a fight call on Wickham Road in Pomeroy by separating the involved parties.
  • Disabled Vehicle: Assistance was provided to a woman with a disabled vehicle on SR 7 near US 33.
  • Tree Removal: A fallen tree on Bald Knob-Stiversville Road in Portland was reported and secured for removal by the highway department.
  • Medical Assistance: Two females stranded with a broken-down vehicle in Racine were transported to a nearby residence.
  • Traffic Stops: Two traffic stops were conducted, resulting in verbal warnings for vehicle defects and speeding.
  • Threats Complaint: Deputies responded to a complaint of threats on New Lima Road in Rutland and confirmed there was no physical danger, resolving the situation peacefully.
  • Unclear Emergency: Following up on an unknown emergency call on Rocksprings Road in Pomeroy, deputies transported a woman to a nearby residence and resolved the situation.
  • Fight Resolution: An altercation on E. Main Street in Pomeroy was de-escalated by deputies, with the male subject leaving the scene voluntarily.
