DAYTON, Ohio — The Buckeye State is set to become the center of the geopolitical world next spring as Dayton has been selected to host the 2025 Spring Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
The announcement was made by Governor Mike DeWine on Monday, stating that at least 300 delegates are expected to convene in Dayton around Memorial Day 2025. This will mark the first NATO session held in the U.S. since the fall of 2003.
The timing of the session is particularly significant as it coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Accords, a landmark agreement that brought an end to the war in Bosnia. The Accords were negotiated and signed in Dayton, marking a pivotal moment in the city’s history.
The upcoming NATO session underscores Dayton’s ongoing role in fostering international dialogue and peacekeeping efforts. As the city prepares to welcome delegates from around the world, the event promises to put Ohio at the forefront of global discussions and decision-making.
