NELSONVILLE, Ohio — A coordinated operation by the Athens County Drug Task Force, Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, Adult Parole Authority, and Nelsonville Police Department resulted in multiple arrests at a Nelsonville residence. The search warrant executed on June 11, 2024, at 40 Poling Avenue was part of an ongoing drug abuse investigation.
Upon entering the home, officers encountered resistance from a resident attempting to obstruct their efforts. The situation escalated when drug paraphernalia was found, leading to the issuance of an additional search warrant. The operation led to the arrest of several individuals with active warrants.
Among those detained were Jimmy D. McDonald Jr., 46, charged with Endangering Children and Failure to Appear; Jayd M. Monk, 42, facing charges including Endangering Children and Permitting Drug Abuse; Shawn Thompson, 38, arrested on a motor vehicle-related warrant; and Izick N. McDonald, 19, charged with Obstructing Justice.
A juvenile with an outstanding warrant was also found on the premises and has been taken to a detention facility. All arrested individuals have been transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
