A trooper was rear-ended on route 35 while responding to a crash Thursday night.
It happened at around 9 p.m. in Chillicothe on the highway near Bridge Street.
The trooper was rear-ended by another vehicle, which resulted in a chain reaction crash with a third and fourth vehicle. The trooper’s vehicle is totaled with the trunk smashed into the backseat. It’s unknown if the trooper was injured.
At least one person in another car was unconscious when medics arrived on the scene.
Troopers said a dog was involved, but was not injured, and that the driver of the truck with the dog was cited for drunken driving.
Route 35 westbound was shutdown at Bridge Street for the crash for nearly two hours.
