Ohio Governor Mike DeWine visited Ross County on Monday.
The trip was part of his plans to create a COVID-19 memorial site to honor those who have died from the virus.
Park visitors saw many state troopers as security was heightened at the Great Seal Park for the visit. The Governor flew in by helicopter and got an aerial view of the park, according to his spokesman.
“The Governor visited the park with ODNR Director Mary Mertz today,” said spokeswoman Jill DelGreco. “It is one of the locations that is under consideration for the memorial grove to honor the lives lost to COVID.”
Great Seal Park is one of many locations the Governor is considering for the memorial.
