FAYETTE COUNTY, Ohio — Late Monday evening, firefighters responded to a tractor-trailer fire near the exit of the northbound rest area on I-71 in Fayette County.
The incident occurred shortly before midnight, with the truck’s cab fully involved upon arrival. The fire, officials said, was quickly extinguished before it could spread to the hopper bottom full of rice being transported.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation. No serious injuries were reported.
Traffic was delayed while the fire was being extinguished, but it resumed its normal flow after the firefighters cleared the scene.
